BAGUIO CITY – Two persons were arrested by combined police operatives after they tried to allegedly stab a chef in front of a public school along Yandoc Street, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the arrested individuals as Rezyl Val Dulnun Kindipan, 20, single, native of Lagawe, Ifugao, and a resident at St. Anthony Street, San Luis Extension, Baguio City and Mark Anthony Fabillar Gaspar, 22, single, native of Manaoag, Pangasinan, Sound System operator, and a resident at Taj Mahal, San Luis Extension, Baguio City while their supposed victim was named as Jayson Montemayor Galiste, 18, single, native of Tubao, La Union, Chef, and a resident at Sumulong Street, Holyghost Proper, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his companions were on their way to an establishment to buy cigarette when their way was blocked by Gaspar who allegedly uttered words that the victim refused to respond.
However, Gaspar reportedly grabbed him on his back when Kindipan appeared from nowhere and attempted to stab him with a 12-inch long kitchen knife but he was able to evade the attack.
His companions were able to seek assistance from the policemen on board a patrol car that was in the area that resulted to the arrest of the two suspects while the weapon used was recovered in the compound of the school after the suspect threw the same when they saw the law enforcers approaching them.
The case against the suspects are now being readied for filing before the city prosecutor’s office.
