29.2 million Worth of marijuana destroyed in Kalinga

CAMP MAJ BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – The relentless operations against illegal drugs specifically marijuana, resulted in the destruction of more than 29.2 million worth of marijuana plants at Brgy. Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga on August 7 and 8, 2018.


Joint operatives from Tinglayan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Kalinga Drug Enforcement Unit, Kalinga Mobile Force Company, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) were able to destroy, and burn on site more or less 146, 200 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of Php 29, 240, 000.00. Said plants were discovered in 17 plantation sites with an estimated total land area of 19,510 square meters.

The success of the operation is attributed to the strengthened collaboration between the government forces and the community whose timely information led to the discovery of the plantation areas.

PROCOR Director Chief Supt. Rolando Nana lauded the accomplishment of the operating personnel, but at the same time directed all unit commanders to intensify intelligence build up against personalities involved in illegal drugs trade.
