The Department of Trade and Industry – Philippine Trade Training Center (DTI-PTTC), the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) and the Center for Future Leadership, Inc. (CFL) will hold the 5th Negosyo sa Barangay Entrepreneurship Development Training with the theme, “Angat Lahat sa Barangay, Focus on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” on 1 – 4 May 2017 at the Teachers Camp, Baguio City.
With Memorandum Circular No. 2017-50 dated March 15, 2017 that was issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government is encouraging all provincial and local Chief Executives to allow their local barangay officials to participate in this training on official business.
This four-day training aims to capacitate the barangay officials on how to promote entrepreneurship development, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises, in the grassroots ad engage them to provide appropriate support and to coordinate this effort to significantly realize an entrepreneurial community.
The said event will also allow the participants to gain knowledge, skills and attitude to improve upon existing business undertakings in their localities while empowering the barangays to be models of grassroots development and incorporating the benefits of micro, small and medium enterprises as community-based industries that are prepared to bring economic growth in the countryside.
Meanwhile, a Round Table Discussion with the PCCI-BBCI Board of Directors is scheduled on May 2, 2017, Tuesday, 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. at the Chamber Conference Room, Tourism Complex, Baguio City. The RTD will be conducted by the Center for Strategic Reform of the Philippines, (CSR – Philippines), the official Think Tank of BIR and DTI on ease of doing business in the country. The Philippine Tax Whiz, Mr. Raymond A. Abrea will serve as the Resource Speaker during the said event.
