Baguio City – A total of 718 darters from Baguio and neighboring places joined the P150,000 Panagbenga 2017 National Dart Tournament last February 17-19, at Barangay Engineer’s Hill Covered Court, here.
The tandem of Jimmy Emana of Highland Darters and Jayson Langcao of Cordillera Dart League won the Classified Draw Doubles which started first before the other events, participated by 118 pairs. The Classified Draw Triples saw 147 players, won by the teamwork of Ronald Briones of Highland Darters, Ronan Tom of Philworkx and Marvic Meana of Cordillera Dart League.
Robson TK Gunner Pasay 5 led by Alexis Toylo, Alain Abiabi, Jhay Doria and Leo Buizon topped the thirty five teams in the Fix-4 Person Team event. The Senior’s Singles, with 30 players, won by Jimmy Emana of Highland Darters. Bebang Orbeta of Fidel Darts Club won over Waka Mendoza in the Ladies and Gays Singles, while Jhey Doria of TOP Gunner won the Youth Singles.
Alexis Toylo won in the decisive match in the Open Singles which was the last event with 92 competitors. The championship came down to the best-of-seven championship between Toylo, 25 years old, of Kosa Gunner and Ricky Mijares of Robson.
The three-day tournament offered a total of P150,000 which was divided by the Classified Draw Doubles, Classified Draw Triples, Fix 4 Person Team, Senior’s Singles, Ladies and Gays Singles, Youth Singles and Open Singles categories.
The National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP) and the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas, in cooperation with City of Baguio and coordination with Highland Darters, Cordillera Dart League and Cordillera Darters Association were responsible for the very successful conclusion of the three-day of intense darts competition.
