After nine days of medical and dental missions in different barangays of Baguio City, the group of retired Philippine National Police Director Benjamin Magalong and their counterparts in MediKalinga have served 10 districts composed of 65 barangays.
During this series of outreach programs, a total of 7,828 people were examined and treated for different ailments by doctors, nurses, dentists and other pro bono volunteers.
Of those examined for optical cases, 2,178 eyeglasses are now being prepared for those belonging to 9 districts and 1,535 eyeglasses will be distributed to them this week.
Also, under their dental outreach project, 645 dentures are now under process, and 250 of them will also be distributed to their various beneficiaries this week.
It may be recalled in earlier news reports that the group led by Magalong, along with their counterparts in MediKalinga, are going the rounds of Baguio’s 20 districts to serve patients and various beneficiaries who are hard up or who cannot afford regular medical and dental checkups.
Along with these, they also offered free medicines, free massages and free haircuts to the public, as part of their Christmas gift giving this holiday season.
This outreach program will run every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until mid-January 2019.
