TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The construction of a mini-gymnasium inside the premises of the Tabuk City National High School will be completed soon in order to serve the needs not only of the biggest public secondary school in the province but also the community of this city.
Armando Gevera, one of the school heads of TCNHS and serving as physical facility coordinator, said the project will not only cater to the school but it will also serve as a venue for community activities.
Further, he said it will serve as a temporary evacuation center for families affected by the onslaught of natural calamities in the city.
“The construction of our mini-gymnasium is still underway because the funds come from different sources that is why we have to wait for the appropriations to be released for our project,” Gevera stressed.
He disclosed the initial funding for the project in the amount of P3 million was already utilized for the initial works, however, the school still needs at least P3 million from other fund sources in order to facilitate its completion.
Gevera disclosed the school administration is doing its best to source out from willing government and private donors more funds as soon as possible in order to complete the project.
According to him, school officials want the completion of the project before the implementation of the election ban by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) so as not to affect its possible use in the future, especially during the onslaught of natural calamities by the end of this year.
Gevera cited other major projects of the school within the facility includes the upcoming completion to of the stage, additional bleachers for spectators, other new structures among others.
Gevara assured the community that their major projects will be completed before the end of this year so that the facilities will be used for their projected purposes.
Gevera appealed to interested stakeholders to contribute in whatever way for the completion of their programmed projects beneficial to the community of Tabuk.
