BAGUIO CITY – Local residents and visitors alike will be given a magical and captivating Yuletide treat while enjoying their well deserved break in the Summer Capital with the opening of the famous Baguio Country Club (BCC) Christmas Village that runs through from November 13, 2015 to January 3, 2016.
The theme of this year’s Christmas Village is “Christmas Wonderland” which features different characters from the famous series “How to Train your Dragon”, Superheroes and Disney Princesses.
The Christmas Village also showcases new activities and Christmas decors and trinkets which are made out of condemned golf balls, empty plastic bottles of various sizes, shampoo and lotion bottles, key cards, buttons, soda cans, plastic bottle caps, scrap tarpaulins and lumber, wood trimmings, recycled paper, beer cases, oil cans and many more.
As the Club goes green, it pledges to support the environment in various ways possible and the “Christmas Village” is a realization of this commitment.
This 2,048 sq.m. (approx.) Christmas Village showcases twenty five (25) Christmas Trees in various sizes.
Anthony de Leon, BCC general manager, disclosed there are fifteen (15) miniature houses in different forms, some of which will be occupied by Concessionare stores that are available daily to offer food and drinks, toys, candies and a whole lot more.
Eight snowmen figures are displayed around the Christmas Village. Bigger structures also awaits as a life-sized Santa Sleigh serves as the center piece of the Christmas Village.
The Christmas Village is also an avenue for various talents as the only exclusive club in the city invited different performers every night which both the kids, as well as the adults will enjoy. Nightly entertainment starts at 6 pm onwards.
And definitely, the most anticipated feature of the Christmas Village which is the SNOW will once again entice our visitors. The Club acquired eight (8) artificial snow machines that are positioned around the area blowing artificial snow that will surely give a White Christmas vibe.
Entrance rates are P100 for adults and P40 for kids aged 4-12 years old, (3 years old and below are free of charge).
De Leon advised the public that the Christmas village strictly implements its dress code policy. Flat rubber slippers typically worn in the beach or in the house are not allowed regardless of brand and cost. Further, food, drinks and pets are likewise not allowed. Operating hours starts at 10:00 am to 10:00 pm during weekdays and 10:00 am to 10:00 pm during weekends.
The BCC official extended an open invitation to the public, both young and old, to come and visit the Baguio Country Club Christmas Village for a unique Christmas Experience this Yuletide season.
