BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Education (DepEd) of Baguio City Division celebrated Christmas attended by all teachers, school heads, both elementary and secondary, PTA federation and Division personnel on the City DepEd family day held at the PFVR Gym. The theme of this year’s celebration is “DepEd Baguio: This is my family; This is our day!”
Dr. Rachel M. Bugtong, Chief, CID welcome the participants reiterating the priceless gift of services rendered by the teachers as they perform their mandates and the City council resolution granting the annual “DepEd family day”

Atty. Agustine P. Laban III, OIC Schools Division Superintendent pointed out in his message the numerous accomplishments of the DepEd Baguio as the reason for DepEd Baguio to be recognized as the best functional division office in the Cordillera, and he likewise welcomed everybody as one family to have another year of success for the year 2017.
Congressman Mark O. Go exhorted everyone to continue celebrating their relationship as one DepEd family, togetherness as Christians and to remember the greatest message of the real meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan thanked all the teachers saying without them, he could not be where he is today. He also expressed his full support to all the teachers as the city local government is behind them in all their program in bringing pride and honour to the city in the recent sports competitions. He emphasized as he concluded his message on the reason behind the coming of the “Messiah” and the birth of Jesus.
The 2016 DepEd celebration aims to recognize the 2016 outstanding school division employees and school offices both public and private for their outstanding accomplishment.

Dr. Elma D. Donaal, Chief of the SGOD ended the program by appreciating all teachers who stayed till the end of the day and stressing that she will remain as service provider even in retirement. Mr. Orden V. Cayso, president of Baguio City Teachers Employees Association, The acknowledged everyone and expressed gratitude for all who came.
