The anti-criminality campaign of PRO-Cordillera yields eight arrest of three drug suspects and five illegal gamblers.
Recently, through the implementation of search warrant issued by Judge Maria Ligaya V. Itliong Rivera, Jericho Añonuevo Tuason alias ECO, 23, native of Bamban, Tarlac and his girlfriend identified as Rachel Calago Dulos, 26, waitress, native of Bacolod City arrested in their boarding house at Alley 6, Saint Theresa Street, Dominican-Mirador Hill, Baguio City in the morning of October 4, 2018 for possessing illegal drugs. Seized from their possession are three (3) sachets of suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
In another operation, a suspected drug pusher identified as Martin Bataclao Sanchez, 29, a resident at Km3 La Trinidad, Benguet was arrested in a buy bust operation at Leisure Lodge, Upper Magsaysay, Baguio City on October 2, 2018 after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth Php4,000. Seized from his possession are two (2) sachets of suspected shabu.
Moreover, five gamblers were separately nabbed on October 3, 2018.
Police arrested three indiciduals aged 25, 25 and 68 in their residence at Bangued, Abra in the evening of said date by personnel of CIDG-Abra and Bangued MPS. Seized from them are one (1) set of playing cards and Php301.00 bet money.
Two laborers aged 22 and 32, were also arrested at Tuba, Bengue by the joint Operatives of CIDG, PMFC –Benguet PPO, PIB Benguet and Tuba MPS for illegal gambling. Confiscated from them are one (1) funnel, three (3) Pingpong Balls, assorted Chips, bet money amounting to Php559.00 in different denomination, and gambling paraphernalia.
Appropriate charges are filed against the suspects in court.
With this arrest, PROCOR will continue to step-up on illegal drugs and illegal gambling drives as it pursues its vow to stop these illegal activities in the region.
