BANAUE, Ifugao July 14 – A 79-year old farmer was injured after he was allegedly hacked by his own brother-in-law during a heated altercation that was trigged by an old grade due to a land dispute at Piwong, Kinakin, here, Thursday.
Police authorities identified the injured individual as Tito Anaper Y Budah, 79, married, farmer while the suspect was named Leon Tumitit, 79, married, farmer both residents of Kinakin, Banaue, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim went to his farm to check the water supply when he met the suspect on the way that resulted to a heated altercation.
At this juncture, the suspect suddenly pulled out his bolo and hacked the victim on the different parts of his body.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Good News clinic for initial medical treatment but was later transferred to a nearby hospital while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives.
Both parties agreed to amicably settle the case among themselves considering that they are relatives.
