Farmer hurt in La Paz shooting incident

LA PAZ, Abra February 05 – A 28-year old farmer was injured after he was shot by a gun wilding suspect in front of their residence at sitio Ganao, Lguis, here, Saturday.

Police authorities identified the victim as Jeff Albert Berame Tesoro, 28, married and a farmer while the suspect was named as Eduardo Morales Jr., 29, single both residents of Sitio Ganao, Liguis, La Paz, Abra.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his aunt were sitting in front of their residence when the motorcycle-riding suspect suddenly arrived and told the former to run.

However, the victim told the suspect to calm down but the latter brought out his calibre .45 pistol and fired it upwards that prompted the former to run away.

The suspect then had a chance to shoot the victim that hit him on his thigh and fled towards an undisclosed direction.

The suspect was immediately arrested by responding police operatives while the victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial hospital for medical treatment.
