LUBUAGAN, Kalinga November 19 – A 43-year old farmer was injured after he was allegedly hacked on the different parts of his body by his own brother-in-law during the wake of the latter’s mother at Baguitan, Upper Uma, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Vargas Gaowon Camilo, 43, married, farmer while the suspect was named as his own brother-in-law, Leo Salang-oy Pangkao, 29, single, farmer, and both resident of Bangtitan, Upper Uma, Lubuagan, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect were attending to the needs of those who attended the wake of the latter’s mother when the suspect, who was holding a bolo, met the victim on the main door and without any apparent reasons hacked him on the different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives with the help of his relatives and barangay officials.
The case is still subject to further investigation by the police operatives to ascertain the real motive of the incident.
