TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 28-year old farmer died after he was allegedly robbed of his cash money and hacked to death by still unidentified individuals inside their old house at Gobgob, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Ariel Bernese Reyes, 28, single, farmer, and a resident of Purok 3, Gob-gob, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim asked permission from his relatives to go to sleep in their old residence in the place of incident where workers of a construction activity in the area are also using as their quarters.
The victim was allegedly ganged upon by three members of the Basao tribe who are the ones sleeping in their old house and who allegedly carted his P13,000 cash money before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
Responding police operatives found the lifeless body of the victim with a bolo still embedded on his back while the suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation with the assistance of their fellow tribesmen.
The case is still subject to further investigation to ascertain the motive behind the said brutal murder incident.
