LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Pangasinan First Lady Karina Padua-Espino honors the women of Pangasinan as she acknowledges the efforts they contribute for the over-all development of the province.
In addressing San Carlenians during their local celebration of the National Women’s Month held on March 8, Madame Espino as honored guest and speaker, bared that the provincial administration is non-stop in its efforts to support the women sector.
“The provincial government acknowledges the noble contributions and outstanding traits of women, and in fact, has long crafted initiatives to empower them from 2007 up to the present,” Madame Espino said.
Despite of the unprecedented changes of time, the Pangasinan First Lady extolled the women of Pangasinan for responding to the challenges, stressing “strength, resilience, and faith” as the key elements which make women champion the tests of life.
“Women are overcomers. We easily adapt to change when faced with challenges,” said Madame Espino.
The Pangasinan First Lady likewise urged parents to protect and guide the young generation, and to teach them “the good morales of living”, particularly the respect and love that they must imbibe on their lives, and share to the society.
In stating the support of the provincial government to the women sector, Madame Espino bared that service-oriented departments such as the employment services office, health office, and the sports development and management council sustain programs which are intended to reach out to the women sector.
These include the conduct of training for spouses of Overseas Filipino Workers, and provision of financial support to female scholars and female athletes. The province also takes premium of women’s health and those of the children and senior citizens.
First Lady Karina assured that the Kalusugan Karavan she leads along with the team of the Provincial Health Office shall continue to bring the comprehensive health package to Pangasinenses, especially those living in far flung villages in order to address their health concerns, specifically maternal, medical and dental needs.
“Kasama din sa Kalusugan Karavan ang pagsasagawa ng feeding program, pamamahagi ng school supplies sa mga bata, pamamahagi ng gamot sa mga may sakit, pamamahagi ng tulong sa mga senior citizens, pagsisiguro na ligtas ang napiling barangay kontra dengue, at iba pang serbisyo,” she said.
