Fisherman apprehended for “Salisi” Theft

Baguio City – Concerned citizens and a security guard apprehended a farmer for allegedly committing theft at the Hanger Market, here, on July 11, 2018.

The apprehended suspect was the suspect was identified as Johnny Collado Agulan, 52, single, fisherman, and resident of Casantaan, Santo Tomas, La Union.

Investigation disclosed that the victim was entertaining a female customer inside Stall No. 32 Ginger Alley, Hanger Market, Kayang-Hilltop, here, when she noticed the suspect was holding her bag which he took on top of a table. The victim immediately grabbed the bag to retrieve it from the suspect.

The suspect tried to escape but was apprehended by concerned citizens who heard the victim yelling for help. Gleason Liwan Tampulay, the security guard on duty, responded to the scene and brought the suspect at PCP 1, Baguio City Police Office.

The case was referred to the duty Inquest Prosecutor Philip Randolf Kiat-ong where a preliminary disposition was issued, directing the detention of the suspect at the Baguio City Jail.
