TUBA, Benguet – A 33-year old security guard was injured after he was shot by a fellow security guard during an alleged heater altercation while on duty at the pumping station of the Baguio Water District (BWD) here recently.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, identified the victim as Johnny Udad Severino, 33, and a resident of KM. 8 Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet while she named the suspect as Quirino Dongayao, 45, single, resident of Pico La Trinidad, Benguet, both are employees of the Inter-link Security Agency guarding the BWD pumping station here.
Initial police investigation showed the two security guards were on duty when a heated argument suddenly erupted between them.
Because of their misunderstanding, the suspect suddenly pulled out his service firearm and shot the victim on his body thereby inflicting injury on him.
He was brought to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment while the suspect voluntarily surrendered to responding police operatives.
The case is now subject to settlement by both parties considering that they are employees of a company.
