When you fall, do not fall like a leaf that dies but fall like a seed that will soon sprout.
There can be different forms of falling in different areas.
You may have fallen in your pursuit of a position. You may have fallen in your aspiration to pass an examination. Or you may have fallen in chasing the girl or boy of your dreams. You may have fallen short of resources. You may have fallen short of preparation. Or you may have fallen in love.
But the issue is not whether you have fallen; the issue is whether your attitude and response is right when you fall.
When you fall in your journey to achieving your dreams, do you fall forward? Do you fall like a seed that embraces the soil, learn from the experience and then sprout? Or do you fall like a leaf that disconnects itself from the tree, falls and dies?
In the area of falling in love (since we mentioned it), are you growing as you enter into that life phase of falling in love? Are just going to enjoy the feeling of falling in love but not fall as a seed but a fallen leaf? Or are you set to enjoy the thrill of falling into the soft good soil, embrace the emotion and action required, and sprout that leaf of life and love?
We go back to life in general: when you fall, do you have the attitude and response of a good seed?
They say that the event is just half the equation. What completes the equation to give the outcome from the event is your response. And that response is determined by your attitude.
When you have fallen in your pursuit of a position, do you review the reason why and take the necessary corrective action? When you have fallen in your aspiration to pass an examination, do you take the moment to check what might have caused you in the preparation?
When you have fallen, do you take the next step forward or do you stop and just let the dreams fade into that fall?
In life, you may not be able to stop the fall but you can take command of your attitude and response to the fall. The challenge for you and me is to take the stance of a good seed that falls yet knows how to sprout and grow. In time, the fruits will come!
