Kapangan, Itogon rule Benguet Non-LGU Hoops Tourney

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Itogon, represented by the Tuding Crossroads, and Kapangan ruled the Non-LGU basketball tournament of the Benguet Inter-municipality Sports for All Program held last November 26, 2016 to February 11, 2017 at the Benguet Capitol Open Gymnasium.

The tournament, organized by Board Members Johnny Waguis, the tournament chairman, Jim Botiwey, and Fernando Balaodan, was composed of two brackets, the Juniors Division composed of 35 years and below cagers and the Seniors Division composed of 36 year old and above players.

The Tuding Crossroads knocked Philex, representing Tuba, out during the championship of the Juniors Division while Kapangan settled for the bronze.

Kapangan, on the other hand, ousted the Abukay team representing Itogon, for the crown of the Seniors Division. The Careo team of Tublay pocketed the bronze while Agi-Kabayan finished fourth.

The Second Conference of this program is slated to open this coming April. Interested participants are advised to see Mr. Denmark Monang, the Benguet Sports Director, at Capitol, La Trinidad, Benguet for details.
