Laborer dies in Tinoc accident

TINOC, Ifugao – A 33-year old labourer died after he was pinned down by construction debris that came from the collapsed structure of a canal that was undergoing construction at Abat, Poblacion, here, Saturday.

            Police authorities identified the victim as Richard Bacdangan Puguen, 33, laborer, and resident of Julongan, Kiangan, Ifugao.

            Initial police investigation showed that the victim, together with other construction workers, were removing the wooden forms of the concrete wall of a canal in the place of incident when the newly constructed wall suddenly collapsed that pinned him down while his companions were able to scamper for safety.

            The victim was rushed to the Tinoc District Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.

            The case is still subject to further investigation by the responding police operatives to ascertain the cause of the sudden collapse of the concrete wall.
