HINGYON, Ifugao – A 31-year old labourer was injured after he was hacekd by a bolo-wielding suspect in his residence at Cababuyan South, here recently.
Senior Superintendent Constancio Chinayog, Jr., officer-in-charge of the Ifugao Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as James Paniyo Buwhilon, 31, laborer, while he named the suspect as a certain Joseph Pahyud Lay-ah, both residents of Cababuyan South, Hingyon, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed the suspect arrived in the place of incident and starting wreaking havoc in the neighbrhood until he started hacking the victim’s house.
At this juncture, the victim came out of his house but he was attacked by the suspect causing the former to grab an ax near their door and started attacking the suspect.
The victim sustain multiple hack wounds on the different parts of his body while the suspect also sustained similar injuries causing concerned neighbors to rush them to a local hospital in nearby Banaue town.
The victim remains confined in the said hospital while the suspect was arrested by combined police operatives during a followup operation and the motive of the incident has yet to be established.
