BARLIG, Mountain Province May 16 – A 28-year old man died after he was allegedly hit on the head several times and kicked by the arrested suspect that caused him to fall off a 15-meter deep ravine at Gawana, here, Monday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Julius Lang-oy 28, a resident at Latang, Barlig, Mountain Province while the arrested suspect was named as Nelson Tornacon 41, a resident of Gawa, Barlig, Mt. Province.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was walking along the pathway when he was allegedly waylaid by the suspect who hit him several times n the head and then kicked him that caused him to fall off the ravine and into the riverbank.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team were able to arrest the suspect while the victim reportedly died on the spot because of various head and body injuries inflicted on him.
The case is still subject to further investigation to ascertain the motive behind the commission of the said crime.
