BAGUIO CITY – A 26-year old private miner was arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents after he attempted to sell to undercover agents alleged stolen diamond drill bits from the Philex Mining Corporation during an entrapment operation along Gov. Pack road, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the arrested law violator as Martin Carame Nebsan, 37, married, private miner, and a resident of Purok Phoenix, Padcal, Tuba, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed Paul Brnson Dalog Siano, 45, security manager of Philex Mining Corporation, sought the assistance of personnel of BCPO Station No. 7 for the entrapment of an individual who was reportedly selling alleged stolen diamond drill bits believed to have been stolen from the company.
SPO4 Cesar Nabusan and PO3 Randy Luke Dolipas posed as buyers of the diamond drill bits being sold by the suspect that led to his subsequent arrested.
Confiscated by the police operatives inside the suspect’s vehicle were three pieces of RV6 drill bits and four pieces of 08 ABR drill bits worth P154,000.
The arrested individual and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the BCPO Station No. 7 headquarters pending the filing of charges of violation of the provisions of Presidential Decree (PD 1612 or the Anti-Fencing Law against him before the city prosecutor’s office.
