LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The provincial government under the stewardship of Gov. Amado I. Espino, III through the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) is set to launch the Pangkabuhayan On-wheels, Gulong sa patuloy na ikauunlad ng kanayunan (POGI) truck recently at Pangasinan Training and Development Center.
POGI truck is intended for the Mobile Skills Training Project (MSTP), a manpower entrepreneurship development project of the provincial government in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Pangasinan and the ABC Federation.
According to PESO Manager Alex F. Ferrer, the objectives of the project include provision of equity and access to the poor and underprivileged to obtain necessary skills relevant to industry needs, and help out-of-school youth and unemployed adults obtain the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude to get a decent job.
Invited by the organizers are: TESDA Director Joel M. Pilotin, ABC President BM Jeanne Jinky C. Zaplan, Provincial Board Members led by Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr., Hytec President, DOLE Regional Director, LGU Bugallon led by Mayor Jumel Anthony I. Espino, Bugallon ABC President, Bugallon PESO Manager and Bugallon OFW President.
Gov. Espino will sign the memorandum of agreement (MOA) between and among TESDA Pangasinan and Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay for the fulfillment of the project as a community-based training program followed by the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the mobile training truck to be led by Gov. Espino, Vice Gov. Calimlim, TESDA Dir. Pilotin and BM Zaplan.
For its initial course, the MSTP will offer basic carpentry and basic electrical installation and maintenance for the first batch of trainees in Bugallon, Pangasinan. Training day starts on September 25 and ends on October 24.
