The Philippine Institue of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Baguio-Benguet is set to conduct a series of seminars this coming May and June that will offer 64 continuing professional development units in the different areas of competencies.
There are 40 units available for the thematic area 1, 2, and 4 area (Professional skills), distributed to eight units each in five days. These are Accountancy research writing on May 19 and 20; PFRS Updates on May 25, Tax updates on May 26; BOA, SEC, and BSP updates on May 27 and PSA with New Auditor’s report on June 9.
16 units are available for thematic area 5 (B), distributed to eight units each in two days. These are Accountancy research writing on May 19 and 20; and Problem solving and creative decision-making on June 2.
Lastly, the Benefits of Corporate Governance seminar on May 24 offers eight units for thematic area 3.
Accroding to Rhad Vic F. Estoque, the PICPA Baguio-Benguet President, these series of seminars will be credited in compliance with PRC-BOA Resolution 59-2012 on Clarifications and Amendments on the Rules and Regulations on Continuing Professional Education and Accreditation of CPAs in Public Accountancy and Accounting Education and R.A. 9298 (The Accountancy Act of 2004).
“We would like to formally invite all Filipino CPA’s needing CPD units for accreditation and renewal of their PRC License to our seminar. (A participant) may opt to avail of the entire package or only on selected topics.. Please confirm attendance on or before May 12, 2017 to ensure adequate number of materials, certificates, and snacks for attendees. Pre-registration is also encouraged.” he said.
The entire seminar package can be availed by PICPA members in good standing at Php 11,500 while it is Php 15,000 for members not in good standing or non-members. If availed individually, the fees are Php 1,680 for members in good standing while Php 2,240 for members not in good standing or non-members. Seminars in May are to be held at Rm. 401, Feliz Loy Building, Session Road, Baguio City while the June schedules will be held at the BBCCC Conference Hall, Assumption Road, Baguio City. All seminars are scheduled from 8:00 to 5:00 PM.
Early registrants can pay their seminar fees by depositing the amount at Philippine Savings Bank Account Number 101-332-000-393, or at Land Bank, Baguio Savings Account Number 221-373-987.
