The Philippine Institue of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Baguio-Benguet recently announced revision of some of the schedules of their 7-topic, 64 CPD seminars due to unavoidable circumstances.
According to President Rhad Vic F. Estoque, the May 19 and 20 scheduled seminar on Accounting research writing will be moved to a future date due to the unavailability of the speaker, Dr. Rufo Mendoza. The passing away of Mendoza’s brother caused him to beg off from the event’s original schedule.

The other topics are Benefits of corporate governance on May 24; PFRS Updates on May 25, Tax updates on May 26; and BOA, SEC, and BSP updates on May 27 and Problem solving and creative decision making on June 2.
There are 40 units available for the thematic area A (1,2, and 4), 16 units for area B (5) , and 8 units for C (3) during these seminars.
40 units are allotted for A. Eight units each are to supplied by Accounting research writing, PFRS updates, Tax updates, BOA, SEC, and BSP updates, and the PSA with new auditor’s report.
16 units are available for thematic area 5 (B), distributed to eight units each in two days from Accounting research writing and Problem solving and creative decision making.
Finally, eight units will be provided by the Benefits of corporate governance.
Accroding to Estoque, the PICPA Baguio-Benguet President, these series of seminars will be credited in compliance with the Rules and Regulations on Continuing Professional Education and Accreditation of CPAs.
