LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Pre-schoolers in the province of Pangasinan showcased their talents and creativity in dancing, singing and drawing in the Provincial Children’s Contest held at the Sison Auditorium on November 20.
Anchored on the theme: “Bata: Ilayo sa Droga,” the Provincial Government of Pangasinan joined the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), Department of Social Welfare and Development, and National Youth Commission in celebrating the 25 years of National Children’s Month (NCM).
Highlighting the essence of the theme, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Chief Emilio P. Samson Jr. welcomed the participants with extreme joy, stressing that this event is not only for the young blood, but also for their loving parents and guardians.
Ably representing Governor Amado I. Espino, III, Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba lauded all the child development workers for their fervent dedication in guiding the children in their studies and growth.
“Palakpakan po natin lahat ng child development workers ng ating probinsya ng Pangasinan… dahil mahirap pong mag-alaga ng mga bata,” PA Camba added
Professing his own experiences as a parent to four children, PA Camba also extended his admiration to the parents and guardians who provided all-out support in their kids’ endeavors.
“Lahat po ng ginagawa nating matatanda… lahat po ng mga ginagawa naming dito sa Kapitolyo, kaakibat namin kayo para po sa ating kabataan,” PA Camba added as he borrowed the famous remarks of our former governor and now representative of the 5th district Congressman Amado T. Espino, Jr.
Furthermore, PA Camba urged the parents to stay keen in their child’s development as he reiterated that the provincial government will take part to backstop the welfare and well-being of the children and every advocacy that supports them.
Pre-schoolers from district 1 to 6 competed in three categories – singing, dancing and drawing.
As another treat of the provincial government of Pangasinan to these youngsters, free dental care services sponsored by the Provincial Health Office led by Dr. Eloy P. Bueno were also given to at least 25 children per municipality, simultaneously, while the program was ongoing.
The celebration of the 25th National Children’s Month (NCM) is pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661 which declares November as the NCM, otherwise known as National Children’s Month Act with the CWC, DSWD and NYC as lead agencies.
