BAGUIO CITY – RC Brotherhood bagged their second straight win as they edged the Saints at overtime, 83-76, and New Life got a victory over the UCCP-UCWD, 66-37, in the YMCA Cup, religious division, last April 7, 2017 at the YMCA gym here.

An Exciting game ensued as both the RC Brotherhood and the Saints got into action in game, both showing good performances and tenacity in forty minutes of basketball competition. Going toe-to-toe in the first canto of play, the brotherhood was up by a point shy, 19-18, at the end of the quarter.
Second canto action got the Saints turning the tide as they rallied, tying the game at the dying minutes at 32-all, and gave them momentum. They finished strong with three more field goal conversions to end the first half of play leading by five points, 39-34.
Third quarter action also saw the Saints with much confidence put in more baskets to be remain on the front seat as the Brotherhood kept coming up short with their offensive strategies that limited them to only seventeen points. The Saints ended the third canto buzzer still ahead with a seven point lead, 58-51.
Fourth quarter action saw the Brotherhood strategize to speed up their offense against the older Saints to ignite a rally. They capitalize on the dwindling stamina of the Saints and used their endurance to tie the ballgame at 61-all and convert the match to a see-saw game.
The Saints were still advanced by two points, 74-72, with only 4.7 seconds on the clock, but made a crucial mistake of giving up a foul that sent the RC Brotherhood to the fifteen foot line for a chance to tie. Both shoots connected to force an overtime.
RC Brotherhood got a second wind in overtime, gaining more game momentum, pumping in more baskets for nine points and limited the Saints to only two points, just two conversions from the fifteen foot line, to rung up the score, 83-76, at the end of overtime play.
Meanwhile, New Life used a running game to net a win over the UCCP-UCWD pastors, 66-37. Other winners were: Members Division Team A 87-82 against Team D, and Team C netted Team B 80-72.
