BAGUIO CITY-The RC Brotherhood of La Trinidad won their debut game 63-55, against the Anglican Angels in the YMCA Cup religious division last March 29, 2017 at the YMCA gym here.
The Brotherhood went toe-to-toe against the Angels in the first canto, and took a slim lead by connecting a field goal to beat the buzzer, 19-17 ending first quarter play.

RC Brothers resorted to a slow paced game to start the second. This strategy limited the Angels to only nine points in the quarter but not them as they pile points to remain on the leaders seat and gave them the leverage to control the game. They ended their second canto run with a 14-6 blast to move ahead, 31-26.
Having the momentum, RC Brotherhood re-strategizes their offensive as well as defensive pace to control the boards and the game. They patiently increased their lead in the third canto of play, giving the Angels a hard time connecting baskets, and post a 16-8 run to pull away, 49-34, by the time the third canto buzzer sounded.
The Anglican Angels staged a rally to start the fourth, coming back to chip off the lead that, however, fell short with the time running out. Their 21-14 run fourth quarter run ended the game eight points shy of sending it to overtime.
On the other hand, New Life got reborn as they netted UCCP Sentinels, 67-66 on their game last Monday, April 3, 2017, while UCCP-UCWO bowed down to Assembly of God 49-64. Team YMCA also had a share in the wins after netting a win against the Anglican Angels, 87-75. Meanwhile, Team “A” netted a win over Team “B” 89-73, while Team “C” nipped Team “D” in the members’ division.
