The Sablan Volleyball Boys delegation kept their title after a heart stopping fight against Itogon in five sets, 25-22, 26-24, 20-25, 21-25, and 15-9, during the 2017 Benguet Provincial Athletic Meet held last December 3-8, 2017 at the Benguet State University (BSU) -Laboratory Science High School gym.
The team also copped some individual awards like Edrix Sofla, for being the Most Valuable Player; Darryll Buna, the Best Setter; and Jogrey Candido, the Best Receiver.
The distaff side, on the other hand, ended up second after losing three straight sets against BSU during their championship game.
“In behalf of the Sablan team, we’re grateful and thankful for all those who supported during the tournament. Rest assured that we will do our best to make our province proud on the upcoming CARAA,” Assistant Coach, Oliver Camacho, said in an interview.
The champion team is composed of 10 players mostly from Sablan NHS-Main; Sablan NHS Balluay Extension and Louis School of Sablan.
Both the boys and girls team of Sablan has been excelling in this sport. They perennially contend for the gold on a consistent basis and have been garnering top spots every year.
