MANKAYAN, Benguet – Mankayan Technical Working Group on research completed the first phase of the seminar-workshop on Action and Basic Research after catering to 40 elementary school heads and teachers on September 14 and 21 at Mankayan National High School, Mankayan, Benguet.
Hon. Balodoy M. Totanes, one of the counselors gave the welcome remarks and sponsored the snacks and meals on the first day while Hon. Dario S. Banario, the Vice-mayor provided the snacks and meal on the second day.
Meanwhile, the first phase of seminar-workshop for secondary school heads and teachers was conducted last June 28-30 at Guinaoang National High School, Mankayan, Benguet attended by 27 participants.
Moreover, these efforts by TWG aim to make research a culture in the district of Mankayan. “This series of seminar-workshop is just the first phase,” said Clariza K. Tad-o. “We focused on assisting teachers and school heads in craft their proposals. Eventually, the second phase will take place in the last quarter revolving around accomplishing the final report which includes the results and discussion, conclusion and recommendation.” she added.
Further, the seminar-workshop is a response of the TWG coordinated by Tad-o to the challenge of Xylene Grail D. Kinomis, head of the Benguet division planning and research development. During the Division Training of Action and Basic Research District pool of Trainers and Technical Working Group last May 31 and June 1 at Calajo, Km. 6 La Trinidad, Benguet, the district needs to conduct 49 researches corresponding to the number of schools in the district.
Reportedly, action research is initiated to solve immediate problems to address issues and problems in the Philippine education. Basic research on the other hand, has the scientific research aim to improve scientific theories for improved understanding or prediction of phenomena.
