TUBA, Benguet – A motorcycle rider died while his back rider was injured after their 2-wheeled vehicle fell into a 150-meter-deep ravine at sitio Tokang, Camp 3, here shortly before noon Wednesday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as John Nino Alicante while his injured back rider was a female.
Probers claimed that the motorcycle rider and his back rider were on board a Baguio-bound vehicle when the same suddenly swerved to the south-bound lane, rammed the concrete barrier on the side of Kennon Road and fell into the deep ravine.
Responding police personnel and barangay officials and volunteers from Camp 3 and Twin Peaks found the driver to be unconscious and was later declared dead on the spot by attending physicians while the female back rider was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment.
Investigation is still underway on the real cause of the said accident along one of the major highways leading to the city. By Dexter A. See
