La Trinidad, Benguet – A 41-year old man died while his 26-year old brother was injured after they were repeatedly stabbed by two still unidentified suspects during a commotion at Km. 3, Balili, here Friday dawn.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Jose Dominguez Balong-angey, 41 while he named his wounded younger brother as Jonathan Bay-an Balong-angey, 26, both residents of Addjap, Km. 3, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the Balang-angeys, together with two female companions, came from a night establishment and they were waiting for a taxi when one of the two suspects, who passed by, bumped one of their female companions that eventually resulted in a heated altercation and a commotion.
During the struggle, the suspects reportedly stabbed the victims several times in the different parts of their bodies before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The two wounded individuals were rushed to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment but Jose died while undergoing medical attention.
Responding police operatives recovered the knife used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime while the suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation.
