BAAY-LICUAN, Abra – A 56-year old man died while two others were injured after their vehicle reportedly fell off a ravine at sitio Wilawil, Bulbulala, here, Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Valeriano Baldemor, 56, married, a resident of Zone 7, Bangued, Abra, while he named the injured vehicle occupants as Reynaldo Alcantara, 60, married, a resident of Zone 3, Bangued, Abra and Raymond Barcena, 21, a resident of Bonglo, Licuan-Baay, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the three individuals were on board a pickup that was traversing the said place when the vehicle suffered mechanical trouble causing the driver to allegedly lose control of the same until it plunged into a ravine.
The victim died on the spot while his two other companions were rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment of the injuries they sustained from the accident.
The ill-fated vehicle sustained heavy damages while the case is still subject to investigation by the concerned police authorities.
