LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Three drug suspects were successively arrested while over P342,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents in successive anti-illegal drug operations that were conducted in the different parts of the region Monday.
In Abra, a buy-bust operation launched by the joint operatives of Abra Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (RIU-14), and the 154th Regional Mobile Force Company 15 (RMFB15) resulted in the apprehension of a 21-year-old male identified as a Street Level individual (SLI) after he sold four sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 2.46 grams, and two sachets of dried marijuana, weighing about 9.37 grams, collectively valued at P17,852.4, in Zone 1, Bangued.
Further a 40-year-old male listed as a High Value Individual was arrested following the execution of a search warrant in Katabbogan, Pinukpuk, Kalinga by joint operatives of the Kalinga PPO, Regional Intelligence Division (RID), RIU 14, RMFB15, and PDEA-Kalinga. The search yielded six sachets of suspected shabu, weighing around 6 grams and valued at P40,800.00.
Another search warrant implemented by joint operatives of the Apayao PPO, PDEA-Apayao, RID, RIU14, CIDG-Apayao, and the 150th Maneuver Company of the RMFB15 resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old male, SLI, in Mataguisi, Pudtol, Apayao. The operation led to the confiscation of ten sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 0.50 grams and valued at P3,400.00.
The apprehended suspects, along with the seized pieces of evidence, were promptly turned over to the respective arresting units for documentation and proper disposition, while charges for violations of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is underway for filing against the suspects.
Meanwhile, a marijuana eradication operation conducted by joint operatives of Benguet PPO, RIU-14, RID, and PDEA-CAR resulted in the discovery of 1400 fully grown marijuana plants, valued at P280,000.00, in the municipalities of Bakun and Kibungan, Benguet. Following thorough documentation, the operatives uprooted and burned the marijuana plants, preserving sufficient samples for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera. By Dexter A. See
