ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – An 18-year old farmer died while a 26-year old motorcycle driver was injured after their motorcycle rammed into a gemelina tree on the side of the road along the Alfonso-Lista-Isabela road, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Jefferson Mangili Garcia, 18, single, farmer while the injured motorcycle driver was named as Raymond Ragenden Galera, 26, married, farmer both residents of Guam, San Guillermo, Isabela.
Initial police investigation showed that the motorcycle driven by Galera was bound for Isabela with Garcia as his back rider when it allegedly rammed into a gemelina tree that was planted on the side of the road.
Because of the impact of the collision, the two motorcycle occupants were thrown off their motorcycle and banged their heads and bodies on the concrete pavement that caused them to sustain multiple head and body injuries.
The two individuals were rushed to the Potia District Hospital for medical treatment but Garcia was declared dead on arrival while Galera was confined for further observation due to alleged chest pains.
The case is now undergoing further investigation to ascertain the real cause of the incident.
