BAGUIO CITY – A 23-year old man died while another individual was hurt when two groups were involved in a brawl inside a night establishment along Mabini St., here, Thursday night.
Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the fatality as Jimmy Angelo Sambat Garci, 23, single, and a resident of Bokawkan Road, Baguio City while he named the arrested suspect as Lester Apelledo Manandeg, 22, single, unemployed and a resident of Woodsville, Camp 7, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect were drinking with their fellow companions inside a night spot when a heated altercation erupted between them that resulted to a commotion.
The victim allegedly hit the suspect’s face with a bottle but the latter was able to grab a part of a broken bottle and used it to stab the former several times on the upper portion of his body.
The victim was immediately rushed to the St. Louis University Sacred Heart Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians. While the wounded suspect was arrested by responding police operatives.
Probers are still ascertaining the motive of the incident while other individuals are now being subjected to manhunt operation.
