BAGUIO CITY – A man died while his companion was injured after they were shot by a still unidentified gun-wielding assailant inside an eatery along Bokawkan Road, here Thursday dawn.
Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the fatality as Romeo Pimentel Jr. While he named his injured companion as Nexon Cadoy.
Initial police investigation showed that the victims were eating inside the said establishment when they had a heated argument with the suspect, who was identified as a certain Macmac, after which the latter left the area.
After a few moments, he came back to the place of incident and suddenly fired upon the victims before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
Pimentel was rushed by concerned citizens to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival due to alleged fatal gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body while Cadoy, who was brought to the Pines City Doctors Hospital for medical treatment, was declared out of danger due to a lone gunshot wound on his left thigh.
Responding police operatives are still conducting an in-depth investigation on the aforesaid incident and that they are still ascertain the firearm used by the suspect who is now the subject of a manhunt operation.
