ITOGON, Benguet – A 56-year old man died while his driver was injured after their government-issued vehicle allegedly plunged into a 40-meter deep ravine at Ubolan, Beckel, here, Sunday morning.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Danny Tovera Vallo, 56, married, and a resident of Tuding, Itogon, Benguet, while he named the injured vehicle driver as Nestor Tongalog Palangdan, 60, married, and a resident of Purok Domilos, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the vehicle was traversing the place of incident when it allegedly served to the right and causing it to plunge into a 40-meter deep ravine in the area resulting to the passenger suffering from multiple head and body injuries.
Panagdan was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment while Vallo was pronounced dead on arrival by responding emergency volunteers.
The case is still subject to further investigation by responding police operatives.
