KABUGAO, Apayao – A 27-year old farmer died while his two other companions were injured after they were fired upon by a neighbor while they were having a drinking session in their store a Lutuban, Bulo, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Danniel Cadao Patti, 27, single, farmer while his injured companions were named as Bayangan Enit Patti, 65, married, farmer; and Jenio Abgao Batlong, 25, married, farmer, all are residents of Sitio Lutuban, barangay Bulu, Kabugao Apayao.
On the other hand, the suspect was identified as Romulo Cadao, neighbor of the victims.
Initial police investigation showed that the trio were having a drinking session in their store when the suspect, who was already under the influence of liquor, suddenly arrived and joined them.
After a few moments, a heated altercation erupted between the fatality and the suspect causing the latter to go to their house, took his shotgun and allegedly fired at his drinking partners.
Daniel allegedly died on the spot while his two companions were brought to the Apayao Provincial hospital before being transferred to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan for further observation.
The suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation for him to answer for the crime he committed which was ruled out to be not election-related but a product of alleged misunderstanding between the involved parties.
