TUBA, Benguet – A 16-year old minor died while two others were seriously injured after a truck allegedly bumped into an electric post along Camp 1, Kennon Road, here, Friday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Florence May Parica, 16, single, native of Central Mankayan, Benguet and presently residing at Gusaran, Twin Peaks, Tuba, Benguet while the injured individuals were named as Wilfred Roque Dollaga, 35, truck driver, native of Isabela and Edgar Abat Condes, 43, backhoe operator, native of Tublay, Benguet and both residing at Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the truck was bound to the lowlands when it accidentally bumped a concrete electric post upon arriving in the place of incident that caused the vehicle to turn around and bumped the concrete barrier and rested right side up on the lowland-bound lane.
The truck driver and helper sustained serious physical injuries while the female passenger was thrown to the ravine and was later retrieved lifeless by the responding residents and emergency responders.
The three occupants of the truck were immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but the female passenger was declared dead on arrival while her two companions are still undergoing close medical supervision.
Probers are still ascertaining the real cause of the accident that resulted to the occurrence of the untoward incident.
