LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 30-year old woman died while others were injured when their motorcycles crashed in an unpaved portion of the national road at Lower Tomay, Tawang, here, Sunday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Mary Jane Moresto Gonzales, 30, married, resident of Lamtang, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet while the injured individuals were named as Godfrey Wasit Quela, 37, single, laborer, and resident of Camp Dangwa, Alapang, La Trinidad, Benguet, Erickson Cupido Plan, 33, single, laborer, and resident of Alapang, La Trinidad, Benguet, Arnold Depaynos Sumahey, 35, married, labourer and Jorison Depaynos Sumahey, 28, single, laborer, both resident of Adavong Kaponga, Acop, Tublay, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the aforesaid individuals were on board separate motorcycles proceeding towards the town proper from Tomay when they accidentally got entangled with each other that caused the said vehicles to crash on the unpaved portion of the road that resulted to the occupants sustaining multiple head and body injuries.
The said individuals were rushed to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment but the victim died while undergoing close medical supervision while her companions were still undergoing treatment in the same hospital.
