LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 28 year old carpenter died after he was allegedly shot by his companion during a heated altercation at Lubas, here, shortly before noon Friday.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Emilio Gonzalo and a resident of Pipingew, Lubas, La Trinidad, Benguet, while he named the alleged suspect as Daniel Domlosen, 60, and a resident of Lubas proper, Lubas, La Trinidad, Benguet. Both victim and suspect are natives of Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect had a misunderstanding a day before due to the controversy on the sale of a lot. However, the victim and the suspect again chanced upon each other in the place of the incident with the former armed with a bolo and suddenly attacked the latter.
The suspect was able to seek refuge in a nearby house and allegedly fired at the victim to stop him from his attack.
The victim was rushed to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by the police operatives.
