KIBUGAN, Benguet – Over 1,000 marijuana plants were successfully uprooted and burned on site by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during the conduct of an aggressive marijuana eradication operation at sitio Libeng, barangay Tacadang, here, Friday.
Police authorities said the joint operatives of the 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company, Kibungan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Regional Intelligence Division, conducted a marijuana eradication operation in Sitio Libeng, Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan that resulted in the discovery of a 170-square meter marijuana plantation site planted with approximately 1,020 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of P204,000.00.
The said marijuana plants were documented, uprooted, and burned onsite, while enough samples were taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR.
Subsequently, further investigations are underway to locate other marijuana plantation sites in the area and to identify and apprehend individuals involved in the illicit cultivation of marijuana plants. By PRO-CAR PIO
