TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A meeting was called on 08 August at the conference room of the Provincial Capitol to discuss the activities for the upcoming celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this whole month of September.
Teresita Biteng, field director of the Civil Service Commission (CSC)- Kalinga spoke on one of the highlights of the celebration saying on the third week of September is the ‘Linggo ng Malasakit sa Kalikasan’ thru an activity called Tree Growing For A Cause.
This will be spearheaded by Kalinga and Apayao government offices, where participants will pay a registration fee of PhP250.
She said the proceeds will be given to deserving public servants dubbed as ‘Pamana para sa mga lingkod bayani’ financial assistance.
During last year’s anniversary celebration, Biteng said there were more than 1,000 seedlings planted in an identified site in Calagdao. This tree planting event was participated by mostly employees of the city and provincial government.
Another speaker during the meeting was Grace Kidang, Provincial Human Resource Management Officer who presented the other activities for the month-long celebration which include vibe run, motorcade, inter-agency flag raising ceremony, recognition of public servants who achieved regional and national level commendation, and hanging of the Civil Service Anniversary Flag in offices on the first week of September.
Friendship games on volleyball and basketball, bloodletting, Lingkod bayani bazaar, jobs fair, Professional Regulation Commission licensing activity, and psychological, health and first aid forum are also included in the list of September events.
These lined-up activities emphasize the importance of sustainable management in preparing future-ready civil service. This initiative aligns with the goals of the ‘Ambisyon Natin 2024’, which envisions a Philippines where citizens enjoy a stable and comfortable life supported by a clean, efficient and fair government.
