PIDIGAN, ABRA- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Abra conducted Training Induction Program (TIP) for 125 scholars of four different qualifications.
The beneficiaries in Abra are scholars under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) of TESDA. The TWSP is a response to the clamor of the industry to address the critical skills shortages in the identified priority sectors in the locality. It also aims to fill up the skills gap and job requirements of industries and sectors with high employment demand.
The TIP was conducted via zoom and face-to-face, some beneficiaries were oriented virtually and some attended the TIP at the Provincial Training Center of TESDA Abra.
There are 25 scholars enrolled in Driving NCII, 25 scholars in Contact Tracing Level II, while 50 scholars in Tile Setting NCII, and 25 farmer-scholars in Agricultural Crops Production NCII.
The benefits of the scholars were announced during the Training Induction Program (TIP) such as; Free Tuition fee, Free Assessment fee, Daily Allowance (Php 160/day), 1-year accident insurance, free Internet Allowance P 500, and Health PPE Allowance P 500.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jasper L. Bangisan of the Philippine Red Cross- Abra Chapter discussed Drug Prevention Education as part of the Duterte Administrations’ campaign against Illegal Drugs.
The implementation of the training for the four different qualifications was scheduled separately to ensure the safety of the trainees and trainers. The Driving NCII started on September 28 and will end on October 18. The training for Contact Tracing level II started on September 29 and will end on October 15. The Tile Setting started on September 29 and will end on October 19, and the Agricultural Crops Production NCII training started on September 28 and will end on November 3.
