CALANASAN, Apayao – PhP1.1 million worth of aid was provided by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) through the Local Grant-In-Aid Program to members of the Pagbiyagan Farmers Association and Ob-Obbo Farmers Agriculture Cooperative in the municipality.
This grant is designed to contribute to the productivity and improvement of quality of life of beneficiaries through the use of appropriate technologies which the farmers in Calanasan see as a great help to augment their income, thereby making their life a little bit better.
Thirty-one members of the Pagbiyagan Farmers Association are already enjoying the one unit of PhilMech rice mill grant given to them.
Meantime, 96 farmers of the Ob-Obbo Farmers Agriculture Cooperative will receive a mechanized sugarcane presser of which the procurement is still on-going.
Recently, the staff of the Apayao office of the DOST, in partnership with the Municipal Agriculture Office, conducted the monitoring of the Local Grant-In-Aid on July 31, 2024.
The monitoring is done to make sure that the equipment is properly utilized and to address issues that may arise. By Loremia Pareja
