LUNA, Apayao – A total of 140 students took part in the National Oral Health Month celebration held on February 28, 2025, at the ECBJr. Evacuation Center and Multi-purpose Gymnasium (Aliwa Gym).
This year’s theme, “Pamilya, Una Kong Dentista: #Ngiting7020,” aligns with the Department of Health’s (DOH) “Let’s DOH-8! Vision 70-20 Iwas Bungal” campaign, which promotes maintaining at least 20 natural, healthy, and functional teeth by the age of 70 to improve quality of life.
The culmination program of the month-long activity provided free dental check-ups and distributed toothbrushes, toothpaste, and hand soaps, to further support the importance of proper oral hygiene. The Search for Orally Fit Learners featured students from different high schools in Luna and advocated for better oral health awareness.
With a focus on children and pregnant mothers, said program promotes accessible, family-centered dental care that recognizes oral health as important as to eating, speaking, and social well-being. By Michelle Acantilado
