TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Public Information Office (CPIO) highlighted the candidates who participated in the Know Your Candidates’ Forum Part II, held on April 2, 4, and 8 at the City Conference Hall and SP Hall at the Legislative Building.
The CPIO organized the event to provide voters with an opportunity to learn about the candidates’ platforms of governance, in collaboration with members of the press and various sectoral representatives.
On April 2, incumbent Vice Mayor Dick Bal-o, running for re-election, was the only candidate who attended the event. For the Vice Gubernatorial position, incumbent Board Members Mark Aldrich Diasen, Antonio Bakilan, and Danzel Langkit participated.
On April 4, incumbent Vice Governor Jocel Baac, running for Governor, attended the forum, as well as Retired Brigadier General Steve Ludan and Tinglayan Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, both running for the Congressional position for the Lone District of Kalinga. Mayor Darwin Estrañero participated also in the forum.
On April 8, four City Council candidates attended the event, namely Ivan Yannick S. Bagayao, Errol B. Comafay Jr., Marc Ranier B. Duguiang, and Zorayda Mia M. Wacnang. For District 2 Provincial Board Members, the candidates were Christopher D. Donaal, Alfredo K. Dangani, and Camilo T. Lammawin Jr.
The forum aimed to help voters become familiar with the candidates’ platforms and stances on important city and provincial issues.
Candidates responded to questions from media representatives, sectoral groups, and online viewers.
The event was a collaborative effort involving the Commission on Elections Tabuk City and Kalinga, as well as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Kalinga and Apayao.
All candidates received letters of invitation and were contacted before their scheduled appearances.
The forum was live-streamed on the Tabuk City Public Information Office’s official Facebook page, ensuring that a wider audience could participate in the event.
Due to public demand, there will be a part III of the forum involving the city candidates, vice governor, governor and congressional position scheduled on April 23-24 at the City Conference Hall. By Tabuk PIO
