BONTOC, Mountain Province – A total of 169 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) received their wages amounting to ₱5,700.00 each on October 13, 2022, at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol Auditorium.
In his message, Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong Jr., expressed his profound gratitude to the Office of the Congressman for their unwavering support and commitment for the betterment of the community.
The mayor added that providing short-term employment to displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers are of big help to sustain their basic needs, especially that we are still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Mountain Province Representative Maximo Dalog, Jr., remarked that the TUPAD program catering to the vulnerable and marginalized sectors is one of the government’s commitments in improving the people’s quality of life.
Likewise, Dalog assured of a strong partnership of the Office of the Congressman with the DOLE and the municipal government bringing services of the government to the community.
This batch of TUPAD Program is funded by the Office of the Congressman in partnership with the DOLE while the implementation is through the municipal government as a DOLE–Accredited co-partner.
DOLE-TUPAD Program is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
