LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Some eighteen wanted persons were successfully arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents in separate anti-criminality operations in the different parts of the Cordillera from February 16-22, 2025.
Based on a report from the regional investigation and detection management of the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO-CAR), the Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) led the arrest tally apprehending seven wanted persons. This was followed by the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) with six arrests, Benguet PPO with three, and Kalinga and Mountain Province PPOs with one each. Five of those arrested were listed as Most Wanted Persons, including four at the Provincial Level and one at the Municipal Level.
“These successful operations reflect the unwavering commitment of our officers to ensuring the safety and security of the Cordillera region”, said PBGen. David K. Peredo, Jr, Regional Director of PRO CAR. “We are dedicated to continuing these efforts and working closely with our communities to maintain peace and order”, he added.
Moreover, increased police presence throughout the region contributed to a notable decrease in criminal activity, with zero crime incidents recorded in 57 municipalities and four Police Stations (PS) of Baguio City Police Office (CPO).
Zero crime incidents were reported in 23 municipalities in Abra, ten municipalities in Mountain Province, nine municipalities in Ifugao, six municipalities in Kalinga, five municipalities in Benguet, and four municipalities in Apayao, while Police Station PS2, PS3, PS7, and PS10 of Baguio CPO also recorded zero crime incidents.
PRO CAR’s efforts were further underscored by impressive law enforcement performance, achieving an 88% crime clearance rate and an 84% crime solution efficiency. These statistics demonstrate not only the dedication and effectiveness of Cordillera police in maintaining peace and order within the region but also the success of the programs implemented by the police force to solve existing crimes and proactively prevent future incidents.
